What's the Environmental Impact of NFL Games at the Rose Bowl?

Would increased use of the Rose Bowl affect Crescenta Valley residents? Anyone with concerns can give public input on the issue at an April 3 meeting.

The Rosebowl could become a temporary spot for the NFL if a team comes to Los Angeles.

On April 3, there will be a public input meeting to discuss potential environmental impacts of having an NFL team play temporarily at the Rose Bowl.

The meeting is part of a state-mandated environmental impact report that would be required for the City of Pasadena to go forward with having a team play there.

The Pasadena City Council voted earlier this month to study the idea under the idea that a team might relocate to Los Angeles and would need a temporary place to play while a stadium was built at one of several proposed locations within the county.

As for how the plan might impact Montrose-La Crescenta: traffic on the Foothill (210) Freeway generally increases significantly during games and joggers and bikers who use the area around the stadium on weekends would have eight fewer days of unrestricted use during the NFL season.

The meeting is at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3 at the Rose Bowl Media Center.
