The American Legion Post 288 and VFW Post 1614 will host the Veterans Community Bingo Night on Aug. 16.

The event will raise funds for their veteran and youth programs, such as VA Hospitals, Wounded Warriors, Verdugo Hills Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Crescenta Valley High School JROTC Unit 882, GCC Veterans Club Youth Scholarships and Oratorical Contest and the Boys and Girl Club.

According to Mike Baldwin of the American Legion, last year’s bingo night brought in between 150 to 200 people.

"Each game is a $100," Baldwin told the Crescenta Valley Town Council on Thursday. "We have merchant people here that can assist us through and make sure that the money goes to the programs that we are trying to support."

The event will be at Healy Hall in Holy Redeemer School in Montrose. Donations can be made to American Legion Post 288 and you can mail it to American Legion 288, PO Box 223, Montrose CA 91021.
