County Board of Supervisors Set to Vote on Funding CV Skate Park
The total cost for the project is $800,000, and Tuesday's vote will free up $163,574 to hire a design consultant.
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is set to vote Tuesday on funding for a proposed skate park at Crescenta Valley County Park.
The vote, if passed, will "establish the proposed Crescenta Valley Skate Park and allow the Department of Parks and Recreation to proceed with conceptual plan design and cost estimate for the proposed new skate park at Crescenta Valley County Park," according to the board's agenda.
The total cost for the project is $800,000, and Tuesday's vote will free up $163,574 to hire a design consultant to provide conceptual plan design and cost estimate services, according to the agenda.
The park has taken several years of planning, and the idea for it came from number of skaters in the La Crescenta area who found it difficult to travel to skate parks in La Canada or Verdugo Park in Glendale. The skater group was led by local teen Cooper Iven. Read a profile of Iven published by the Crescenta Valley Weekly.
