Comments of the Week: "This seems a wee bit too wild west to me."

Check out the best, funniest, strangest and most informative things our readers have to say.

We take pride in our work here at Patch and always strive to bring our readers interesting news. However, we must admit, sometimes the most interesting part of a great Patch story is the comments from readers that it sparks.

Here are some of the best, funniest, strangest and most informative comments from Patch stories around the San Gabriel Valley and Crescenta Valley Patch sites this past week:

Wild Police Chase Ends with Juvenile Arrest, Crunched Patrol Car

South Pasadena saw some dramatic police action on July 4th and a lot of it was caught on tape. Reader Elias Baldwin questioned the circumstances of the chase and whether it was a good idea for police to pursue the suspect during the middle of the day. Check out the story and chime in on the discussion.

July 12, 2013 at 03:18 pm All for locking up the bad guys, but IMHO this seems a wee bit too wild west to me. This kid sped to get away from them and drove recklessly to get away from them = the reason he was driving around like that. In this instance, they were called to the residence so they know where he lives, they know who he is... why not come back later and pick him up after things have cooled down? This a safer to all alternative to chasing him around at high speeds during the middle of the day down residential streets often frequented by the children of our town. If there are exigent circumstances that were not reported in the article - i.e. a firearm, known intoxication or an indication of willingness to harm himself or another, that would alter the dynamic to something more justifying of the chase seen in the video.

S'Links Gourmet Hot Dogs Opening Soon in Old Town Monrovia

Patch editor Nathan McIntire reports a new eatery is moving into 630 S. Myrtle Avenue in August. New business stories always draw comments from food lovers in town. This one paints an interesting picture of the menu. Steak in a tube, really?

Steak in tubular form is always a good thing! Nice to have something different. Is this the old Goddard Gallery place?
