Chemicals Involved In Alleged Suicide on ACH
Angeles Crest Highway still closed during investigation.
Forest Service officials discovered the remains of someone who reportedly committed suicide inside a vehicle on Angeles Crest Highway Wednesday morning.
Angeles Crest will remain closed in both directions for at least another hour because the vehicle contained chemicals possibly used in the suicide, said officials from the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station.
Officials with the US Forest Service discovered the car around 10 a.m. at mile marker 29.31 and believed it to contain a dead body. The forest service officials did not approach the vehicle, because they believed some form of chemicals were inside the vehicle, said Lieutenant Angela Shepherd of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station.
ACH is closed from mile marker 29.04 to mile marker 33.80 while officials continue to investigate and until the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office can bring their hazmat specialists in to remove the body.
