California Department Fish and Game officials said two bears could be wandering the Glendale area, according to The Glendale News-Press.
Locals saw a 300-pound black bear about 10 p.m. Thursday in the 2500 block of East Chevy Chase Drive, The News-Press reported. This is the same location where a bear was found snooping in trash, eating chicken, rice and Baklava in May.
Officials can't say if this bear is 'Meatball,' the bear who devoured food from Joey Ball's refrigerator, then wandered La Crescenta and Montrose in April before he was tranquilized near Holy Redeemer Catholic Church at the corner of Briggs and Montrose avenues.
“I can confirm that Meatball is back,” said Fish and Game spokesman Andrew Hughan in an interview with the The News-Press. “Is it the same bear on Chevy Chase? We don’t know.”
A photograph taken by residents near the Angeles National Forest shows a bear with ear tag "210," which CV Weekly reports is the same meatball-loving bear.
Hughan confirmed to the News-Press that this photo was taken several days ago.
