5 Things You Need to Know Today: June 7

Dine out and raise funds for CV Softball, sign a petition for a lighted crosswalk and more!

1. If you're planning on going out to dinner tonight, consider going to at 2428 Honolulu Ave. Giuseppe's has partnered with the Crescenta Valley High School Softball program to raise funds for a new fence in left field. If you tell your server that you're there for the softball fundraiser, a portion of your bill will be donated to the cause. This is tonight only!

2. Police cited two people for soliciting without a permit in La Crescenta, and warn that incidents like this have lead to burglaries in the past. If you see a suspicious solicitor, do not confront them yourself. Instead, contact the police.

3. A petition has been started for a lighted crosswalk at the Glenwood Ave. and Foothill Blvd. intersection. It is available to sign at The Crescenta Valley Flower Mart and at this Thursday's Town Council Meeting at 7 p.m. at the La Crescenta Library.

4. The teenage years can be a tough time, and no parent wants to see their teen get taken advantage of. That's why the Crescenta-Cañada Family YMCA (1930 Foothill Blvd.) is holding a discussion tonight at 7:15 p.m. on ways parents can help teens avoid falling prey to manipulation by their peers, or engaging in manipulation themselves. Feel free to bring your teens with you! It's free.

5. Thinking about working out? No time like the present! Did you know is offering a free week pass? Get yours here!
