Caltrans will close up to three lanes of the westbound Ventura (134) Freeway from Riverside Drive to Pacific Avenue Friday to repair damage from a tanker fire near the interchange of the Ventura and Golden State (5) freeways on April 7.
The closures will begin at 10 p.m. and continue to 5 a.m. Friday. The closures will be repeated from 10 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday.
There will be another closure from midnight Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday, according to Patrick Chandler of Caltrans.
Repairs will be made on sections of both the Ventura and Golden State freeways, Chandler said.
More than 900 feet of metal beam guardrail and asphalt on the right shoulder, bridge railing, damaged pavement in freeway lanes and irrigation and vegetation near where the fire occurred will be repaired.
Westbound motorists will be able to access a westbound slip ramp on the Ventura Freeway without having to leave the freeway.
