Saturday, May 10th – Pasadena Heritage Presents Busch Gardens Remembered – Illustrated Lecture

Pasadena Heritage will host a fascinating lecture by researcher Michael Logan, on the world- famous Busch Gardens. Industrialist and co-founder of the Anheiser-Busch Corporation, Adolphus Busch bought a winter home on Orange Grove Boulevard in 1904, and immediately began working with a prominent landscape architect to beautify their property with rare and exotic plants and trees and fanciful water features. Busch Gardens became a major tourist attraction between 1905 and 1938 when the gardens closed for good. Memories of the first Busch Gardens in Pasadena have nearly vanished, however, many original features survive most now hidden on private property. In his presentation, Mr. Logan matches historic images to their same exact locations today, a century later.

Lecture: 10:00-11:30 a.m.

Tickets: $15.00 non-members, $12.00 members
