May 21 Last Day to Register to Vote in June 5 Primary

May 21 is deadline in Los Angeles County for registering to vote in the upcoming election.

Los Angeles County residents ready to vote in the June 5 primary must register by May 21. If you’re not sure if you are registered then check your status online. This year’s ballot will feature open primaries, in which the top two vote-getters in state or federal races advance to the November election—no matter what party they represent. Here is a list of races on the ballot in Montrose-La Crescenta.  Citizens can get a registration form online here and those who are uncertain of whether they are registered or not can check here. Here Are Your Candidates for June 5 Primary

See who’s running for offices representing Montrose-La Crescenta in the June 5 primary election.

With the candidates on the June 5 primary election ballot finalized, campaigns and voter registration drives are underway. Recently drawn redistricting maps put previous representatives, Rep. Adam Schiff and Assemblyman Anthony Portantino in new districts, leaving Montrose-La Crescenta residents voting for brand new representatives in the House of Representatives and Assembly. State Sen. Carol Liu, who currently represents Montrose, is running again in the new district representing both Montrose and La Crescenta. Kim Kardashian Says 'Stay Tuned' for Glendale Political Career

Kim Kardashian, a Democrat, said she sets her goals high and tells people to stay tuned for a possible bid in Glendale politics.

Kim Kardashian Explains the Glendale Draw

The reality mogul let her representative tell US Weekly that Kim Kardashian is looking for ways to better serve the local Armenian community.

Kim Kardashian announced on E's Kardashian reality show, Khloe and Lamar, that she'd like to run for mayor of Glendale in about five years. It would only be possible to take her seriously, as a business woman, coucil member, or 'the Mayor', if she stopped saying "like", every other word out of her mouth. I realize that probably 80% of the population is in that speech mode, but dont people realize they sound like airheads using that word. It is so out of control. GOP Election Candidates Speak Out on Issues

Participants discuss issues related to congressional, state and local levels.

With November 6 just a few months away, local candidates are revving up their campaigns. La Crescenta residents hosted a speaking event featuring congressional, state and local candidates Saturday. The program, held by the Tea Party Political Action Committee (TeaPAC), discussed a number of issues related to federal spending, constitutional rights, small businesses, among other topics. Glendale Mayor Decision: Friedman Indicates Quintero Has Her Vote

Glendale City Council votes Tuesday to determine Glendale's mayor. Mayor Laura Friedman who had to place her vote Tuesday for the tie-breaker indicated that she will vote for Frank Quintero.

Frank Quintero will be Glendale's new mayor.  Glendale Mayor Laura Friedman announced Tuesday at the start of the city council meeting that she supports Frank Quintero for the position. Quintero has served two terms as mayor and has stated he will retire following this term, Friedman said.  The new mayor served from April 2003 to April 2004 and April 2009 to April 2010.  Friedman was in Glendale's sister city in South Korea, Goseong, last week when the city council had a tie vote for the position, according to the Glendale News-Press.  Three city council members were nominated for the mayor position, including council members Rafi Manoukian, Dave Weaver and Frank Quintero.  Manoukian welcomed Quintero to the position and mentioned he was …
