Woman Held at Knifepoint Outside Montrose Liquor Store
A suspect allegedly brandished a knife at a 30-year-old Montrose woman while she sat in her car in front of Verdugo Liquor.
A man allegedly held a 30-year-old Montrose woman at knifepoint before stealing her jewelry and purse in the parking lot of Verdugo Liquor in Montrose on Saturday, according to the Glendale Police Department.
A woman sat in her car while her husband entered the liquor store to make a purchase about 8:40 p.m. Saturday at 2143 Verdugo Rd., said Glendale police Sgt. Tom Lorenz in an email.
The suspect approached the woman still seated in the car and brandished a knife, Lorenz said. He demanded her jewelry and purse.
The victim gave up her rings and purse, Lorenz said. The suspect fled running northbound on Verdugo Road before police arrived.
The suspect is described as a Latino man, about 20 to 25-years-old, 5 feet 6 to 8 inches, wearing a black hat and black jacket.
Police ask for locals who saw any suspicious people in the area Saturday evening to report it at 818-548-3987 or Crime Stoppers.
