Local Shelley Owen sent her videos to Montrose Patch from 'White Friday' in Montrose.

Santa and locals celebrated the imported snow in a tree lighting ceremony on 'White Friday' in Montrose.

Long Beach Ice Co. brought in the snow Friday afternoon before the 'Hollywood' style tree lighting at 7 p.m. Friday, Mary Dawson wrote on the Montrose Shopping Park blog.

MSPA President Alyce Russell welcomed the visitors and encouraged them to thank local merchants for the event.

Glendale council member Frank Quintero spoke to the crowd, thanking the local merchants.

"Let me start by welcoming everyone and letting you know that from the elected officials, the staff of the city of Glendale, and all of the residents, we want to wish you a happy holidays and Christmas," Quintero said.

Quintero encouraged the crowd to shop local and buy holiday gifts in Montrose this season.
