Tyler Physical Therapy Moves to New Digs

Licensed physical therapist and Pilates instructor Kristy Tyler opens a larger, state-of-the-art facility in Montrose.

The struggling economy didn’t stop Kristy Tyler from following her dream of expanding her business.

Formerly in a one-room studio adjacent to Maloof Chiropractic, opened a brand new facility this past June on Montrose Avenue. Tyler’s studio features Pilates Reformers, springboards and TRX Suspension Training equipment.

“It is my passion to help injured people recover from surgery, avoid surgery in the first place or just be able to do what they love to do,” Tyler said.

Locals have the chance to check out the new facility from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. today during a grand opening celebration. Drawings for free Pilates sessions and prizes happen every 30 minutes for free.

Tyler recognizes that it’s a difficult time to start a new venture but so far business has been good.

Thanks to referrals from local physicians and her acceptance of a number of health care plans, Tyler and her certified instructors have kept their schedules full working with clients of all abilities.

“Because it is so multi-faceted, I like Pilates as a form of therapy and strength training,” Tyler said. “I can put a four-year-old or an 84-year-old on the Reformer and not be worried about undue stress.”

Tyler Physical Therapy fits into the Montrose community well.

“I grew up here,” Tyler said, “and I want to give back to the people, athletes and performing artists in the community that I love so well.”
