Sunday Funday: Honolulu Ave. Was Full of Festivities

Harvest Market, Taste of Montrose and Kids 'n Kritters brought tons of fun to area residents.

Whether it was organic honey, fresh vegetables, baked goods, flowers, or Vietnamese cuisine, Honolulu Avenue was full of options on Sunday.

Taste of Montrose, the Montrose Harvest Market and Wags 'n Whiskers/Kids 'n Kritters provided much entertainment and a belly-full of treats for patrons young and old.

Newcomers to the Taste of Montrose included 9021Pho, a restaurant that offers Vietnamese food with French and California flavors, and Gio's Baguettes. All proceeds from Taste of Montrose go to Prom Plus, an organization which offers students of Crescenta Valley High School a safe after-prom alternative.

Even four-legged guests were enjoying themselves further on Honolulu Avenue, with contests, raffles and a pet parade at the Wags 'n Whiskers/Kids 'n Kritters event.

Harvest Market Manager Mark Sheridan and company are trying to fulfill a specific request from patrons of the market.

"People just want more organic. They want to see their product grown with less chemical inputs and more human care. We're working towards that. We're trying to get as many people in here as possible," Sheridan said.
