Guns, Drugs Seized from Probation & Parole Sweep

Thursday's multi-jurisdictional operation netted eight arrests.

A morning compliance sweep for probationers and parolees netted eight arrests and the seizure of firearms and marijuana, the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station announced Thursday.

An increase in area property crimes and residential burglaries led to the multi-jurisdictional operation. Authorities checked 44 locations to confirm parole-probation condition compliance. Twenty-two people were determined to have been in compliance, according to a news release from Sgt. Robert Hahnlein.

However, eight individuals were arrested on suspicion of committing felonies, including parolees at large, parole and probation violations, child endangerment, and marijuana cultivation at a residence in Altadena. Three firearms were also seized.

The Probation/Parole Compliance Operation covered the areas of La Cañada Flintridge, La Crescenta, Montrose, Sunland, Tujunga, Lake View Terrace, Pasadena and Altadena.

Participating in the sweep were the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Community Oriented Policing Teams, the Glendale Police Department, the Los Angeles County Probation Department and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (state parole).
